Instead, document the alarm, identify the UPS model, note what equipment it protects, and have the battery, load, or unit condition evaluated as appropriate.

Think of the UPS as infrastructure—not an accessory.

If the POS depends on the register, router, switch, payment terminal, and other devices staying powered and connected, then the power protection supporting those devices is part of the POS environment too.
